Privacy policy

MXpeek reads a narrow Gmail surface and keeps it encrypted on your Mac. It has no server path through which the developer or support staff can access Gmail data.

What MXpeek accesses

MXpeek requests Google's read-only Gmail permission for one Connected Gmail Account. Google describes this permission as allowing an application to view email messages and settings. MXpeek applies a narrower product boundary: it reads only the Inbox data required to maintain the newest 100 individual Inbox Messages.

For each retained message, MXpeek may keep:

  • the Gmail message and thread identifiers;
  • Gmail's received time;
  • the decoded subject and sender display information;
  • whether an attachment exists, but not its name, type, content, preview, or download;
  • a locally created Safe Text Body and its normalization or truncation outcomes; and
  • derived local-search entries for subject, sender, and Safe Text Body.

How the data is used

Gmail-derived data is used only for MXpeek's visible message list, message detail, literal local search, synchronization, and user-directed offline reading. MXpeek does not use it for advertising, credit decisions, generalized artificial-intelligence training, or any purpose unrelated to those visible features.

Where the data goes

Gmail-derived data and its derivatives stay on the Mac running MXpeek, inside the encrypted Local Mail Store. MXpeek has no application server. The developer and support staff have no remote or administrative access to the Local Mail Store, OAuth credentials, Gmail identity, message content, or search queries.

MXpeek does not share or transfer Gmail-derived data to this Compliance Site, Cloudflare, advertisers, analytics providers, crash-reporting services, or other third parties. The narrow exceptions required by applicable law or necessary to protect against abuse remain subject to Google's policies and applicable law; MXpeek does not build an ordinary data path for them.

Local protection and retention

MXpeek encrypts the Local Mail Store and its search index on your Mac. Offline retention supports the visible offline-reading and local-search features while the Connected Gmail Account remains configured. MXpeek does not claim a permanent copy: it retains data only while needed for the product and subject to applicable Google response directives, terms, and policies.

After each successful synchronization, messages outside Gmail's authoritative newest-100 Inbox set are evicted together with their metadata, senders, Safe Text Bodies, search rows, and temporary normalization data. MXpeek keeps no intentional archive or tombstone for evicted messages.

Your controls

Sign Out & Delete Local Data is the primary deletion control. It removes MXpeek's local credentials, sole database key, and Local Mail Store and ends local access. It is designed to work even when the Mac is offline.

Removing MXpeek's access in your Google Account stops future Gmail access, but does not itself erase the Local Mail Store already on your Mac. Follow the separate Google-revocation guidance and then use MXpeek's local deletion control.

This website and Cloudflare

This is a static informational website hosted on Cloudflare Pages. It has no contact form, account, cookies, analytics, advertising, client-side tracking, Pages Functions, or Gmail-derived data. MXpeek does not receive a visitor analytics feed from this site.

Cloudflare necessarily processes ordinary network and request information to deliver and protect the site, which may include IP addresses, traffic-routing data, system-configuration information, and information about traffic to and from the site. Cloudflare describes that processing in its Privacy Policy.

Changes and contact

Material changes to MXpeek's Google-data practices will be reflected here and presented in the application before new or different use begins. Privacy or deletion questions can be sent to support@mb-soft.dev. Do not send Gmail message content, credentials, or encryption material in a support email.
